Challenge 1:
In n out
This challenge involves the ROV moving through a series of hoops. This relates to the real world because when operating an ROV in the ocean, you may have to move through tight, narrow spaces. For example, coral reefs or shipwrecks. The maximum time for this challenge is 3 minutes, and you get 1 point per hoop. I think this task will be difficult because it's hard to see into the water and maneuver the ROV at the same time.

Challenge 2:
Fish ID
Challenge 3:
Gone Fishin'
Gone Fishin’ is an activity where we have to retrieve six schworoctopus that are spread out at the bottom of the pool. The scchworoctous body diamter is 2 inches and the length of one side of the tentacles to the other is about 12 inches. The tentacles of the schworoctopus are bendable. This activity relates to marine science because divers go and take samples of organisms and study them. There is no specific time limit as it is a new challenge.
Challenge 4:
Operation Fix It
The purpose of this challenge is to protect the environment by plugging a busted pipe from an oil rig. In order to do this task, you must pick up an oil well cap at the bottom of the pool with your ROV and place on the leaking pipe. The time limit for this task is TBD. I think this task will be difficult because we have to make our own way to pick it up.

Challenge 2:
Fish ID
This task relates to marine science because keeping track of the organisms in an ecosystem is important to indicate the health of the ecosystem. We attempt the challenge in order to see how difficult both identifying and counting species is with an ROV. The task will be easier than it is in the real world, however, because our specimens will not move.
