Elsa:I have had quite a few experiences in marine science. I've loved it since I was a kid and I've volunteered/worked at multiple places. I volunteered at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for 3 years which started my passion for marine biology. I have also been a camp counselor at a marine science camp for a summer and am working there this summer! I learned tons about different types of marine organisms during these experiences and I think I could help greatly with having to identify the certain types of fish we see while testing our ROV's. I look forward to learning how to engineer and maneuver an ROV.
Romy:I have only had on experience with marine science. I am taking a course in school called marine biology where we learn the oceans. The skills that I bring to this team is that I am very hands on. The thing that I am most looking forward to is the competition. I can’t wait to see how our ROV does.
Rachel:I am currently in Marine Bio, and I am a birder, so I spend a lot of time at the Palo Alto Baylands. I am the Team Leader, so the skills I bring to the group are leadership and organization. I am most excited to try and overcome the challenges of the different obstacles, especially driving through the hoops.
